Experience the thrill of surfing and bodyboarding right here in Cairns! The FlowRider at Tobruk Memorial Pool is an exciting wave simulation ride suitable for beginners through to experienced riders. Whether you’re on a bodyboard or riding stand-up, our trained team will guide you through every step.

Rider Information
🚫 Restrictions — Guests
For the safety of all riders, the following restrictions apply. Please read carefully before arriving.
- Height: Minimum 110cm for a bodyboard session, or minimum 122cm for a stand-up session.
- Guests with a history of seizures, epilepsy, vertigo, or motion sickness.
- Guests with pre-existing limb injuries.
- Pregnancy — expectant mothers are not permitted to ride.
- Guests with heart disorders, pacemakers, or high blood pressure.
- Guests with upper or lower limb prosthetics must remove them prior to riding. The guest must still meet all rider height and capability requirements.
- Guests with certain medical conditions are prohibited from riding. If in doubt, please consult our team before purchasing a session.
🏄 Activities — Prohibited on the Ride
To maintain the safety and enjoyment of all guests, the following are not permitted during FlowRider sessions:
- 🍔 No eating or drinking on or near the ride surface.
- 📸 No personal photography or video recording — our team photo/video packages are available.
- 👓 No loose items, including eyewear, sunglasses, or unsecured accessories.
✅ Requirements — Riders Must Be Able To
All riders must meet the following capability requirements prior to their session:
- Transfer to and from the ride independently.
- Manoeuvre themselves as instructed by our trained team.
- Adhere to all operating procedures as directed by our team.
- Demonstrate full upper body movement and coordination.
⚠️ Please Note — Important Safety Information
Due to the dynamic and physically demanding nature of this attraction, the following guests may not ride:
- Expectant mothers.
- Guests with neck or back conditions.
- Guests recovering from recent surgery, illness, or injury (including those wearing casts).
- Guests with any physical limitation that could be aggravated by sudden, forceful movement.
Height restrictions: Guests under 110cm are not permitted on a bodyboard session; guests under 140cm are not permitted on a stand-up session.
The following items are not permitted on this ride: eyewear, goggles, hard or fibreglass casts, prosthetics, hats, large jewellery, watches, necklaces, bracelets, body piercings, hair clips, pins, religious or cultural ornamentation, and sharp objects.
