Roles available – 

  • Gymnastics coach
  • Learn to Swim teacher
  • Kiosk attendants
  • General maintenance worker

Both coaching/teaching positions are set around school terms after school hours so they are perfect for someone at high school or university. There are a variety of shifts available; AM & PM from Monday – Saturday. The right candidate will have a vibrant and enthusiastic personality, be able to work independently toward team goals, have a passion for seeing young kids grow confidence, knowledge and a love for the sport they are learning. Ideally candidates will have a background and knowledge of the respective sports however a genuine interest and passion to learn and take on feedback is highly valued and goes a long way. All training and support will be provided. 

Kiosk attendants are required to obtain their Pool Lifeguard qualification which can be done through Aquatic Response in Cairns. Applicants with a history of working at a pool and working with computer software, LINKS, are desirable however all training and support will be provided to the right candidate. 

GYMNASTICS COACH: 

Minimum requirements – 

  • CPR
  • Blue Card – Working with Children Check
  • Beginner Gymnastics Australia Coach (or willing to obtain)
    • Minimum age: 14 years 
    • If 16+ years, you will be expected to complete your WAG Intermediate Accreditation

LEARN TO SWIM TEACHER: 

Minimum requirements – 

  • CPR
  • Blue Card – Working with Children Check
  • Swim Australia Teaching with ASCTA or Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety with AUSTSWIM
  • ASCTA minimum age – enrol at 15, begin teaching at 16 // AUSTSWIM minimum age – enrol at 16, begin teaching at 17

MAINTENANCE WORKER:

The primary roles will be performing general pool and grounds keeping with some maintenance, basic repairs and odd jobs, supporting the MCSF team. This role will suit someone with the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment, and an interest in learning new skills is desirable. Own vehicle is essential. The work incorporates several facilities and so the successful candidate must be prepared to travel between sites, as necessary.
